The winged hussars were the elite cavalry of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and their most recognisable feature was the pair of wings rising behind the rider's back. That is why this character works instantly: nothing needs explaining, the silhouette says it all.

At an event the hussar stands at the entrance, greets guests and poses for photographs, or appears on stage as a short historical accent. He works equally well as the single historical detail in a modern event and as part of a wider medieval or baroque-era programme.

Yes. All that is needed is enough ceiling height for the wings to fit freely, plus space at the entrance or on stage. Outdoors there are essentially no restrictions beyond a level surface.
