Knight Guard of Honour

A knight guard is the simplest way to make an event feel ceremonial before guests even step inside. Our standard guard, armed with authentic reconstructions of 14th-century armour and weapons, greets arriving guests, opens the gates, or ceremonially escorts a group of people all the way to the venue.

The guard is not limited to standing at the door. Knights can wait for guests wherever suits your layout – at the entrance to the grounds, along a courtyard path, or in the lobby – and escort them from there across the whole venue to the hall. In some events the warriors also take part in specific stage ceremonies, such as a ring presentation or an award moment.

It is a welcome guests remember: medieval knights set the atmosphere from the very first minute, and photos with the armoured warriors start right at the door. The service is typically booked for the guest-arrival window, though the duration is always matched to your event's script.

The knights do not stand like silent statues – they engage politely and professionally with arriving guests, staying in character and building the historical atmosphere with every line. That is what sets our guard apart from a simple photo prop: the warriors genuinely take part in your event's storyline.

If guests arrive in more than one group, the knights can check invitations at the entrance or demand a previously agreed password. A small game at the door draws people into the story of the evening right away and becomes a talking point for the rest of the night – especially useful at corporate events or anniversaries, where organisers want the very first moments to be memorable.

The standard guard is our warriors, but depending on the scale of your event the guard can grow to a larger detail of knights – forming an impressive knights' alley that guests walk through on their way to the hall. We choose the exact number together with you, based on the space and the nature of the event.

You also choose the costume era. The default option is full 14th-century knight armament: armour, shield and sword, giving the classic medieval look. The second option is 17th-century noblemen's costumes, for example in a hussar or musketeer style, better suited to events with a different historical theme or a Baroque aesthetic.

The guard extends naturally into a fuller knight programme: after the welcome, the same warriors can stage knight fights and a tournament, or add a medieval cannon salute to the celebration. The 17th-century theme also appears in our noblemen fights show – both directions pair well together if you want a multi-era event scenario.

When choosing between the two eras, it helps to think about your event's overall aesthetic: 14th-century armament suits a classic medieval or castle theme, while 17th-century noblemen's costumes sit more naturally against Baroque interiors, manor houses or historic estates. Some clients even mix both eras at once – part of the guard in classic knight armour, part in noblemen's costumes – creating a visual contrast between two different periods right at the same entrance.

The knight guard's final price depends on the number of knights chosen, the length of the guard, and any extras, such as an invitation-checking scenario or an escort across the whole venue.
