  • A compact station that works indoors and outdoors

One decisive hammer blow — and the guest leaves with a coin they struck themselves.

What the guests do

A coin of your own

Guests strike their own coin carrying the mark of your celebration: one blow of the hammer and the coin is theirs to keep. Of all the keepsakes, this is the only one they make themselves.

One hammer strike — and your guest is the smith

We recreate the same principle historical mints once used: a hard metal die struck with a hammer. A guest places a blank on a small but sturdy striking base, takes the hammer and, with one firm blow, stamps the design into the metal. The master holds and stabilises the die throughout and controls the direction of the strike, so injury is effectively ruled out – the guest keeps the fun part, and the coin comes out right on the first try.

The blanks are struck from softer alloys – usually aluminium or copper – so the design imprints cleanly even for a guest who has never touched a hammer before. No prior skill or physical strength is required: the master handles everything that needs precision, leaving the guest with one satisfying swing.

On the coin — your logo or the date

We prepare a custom die in advance from a design you send us – your company logo, the event date or personal initials. That way every guest leaves with more than a generic trinket: a keepsake tied directly to that specific celebration or your brand.

If a custom design isn't needed, we also offer standard medieval-motif dies, which work well for more spontaneous bookings where there's no time to prepare artwork in advance.

And if there is no room for a minting stand at your event, or the coins have to go out by post, we can strike the same coins in advance in the workshop and send them to you ready — that is a separate service, our custom minted coins.

Will everyone get one — and when a second station is needed

It helps to know the real pace when planning your programme: working at a steady, intensive rate, one master can help guests strike roughly 30–50 coins per hour. That lets you work out ahead of time whether a single minting station will get through your full guest list in the time you've set aside, or whether a longer slot is worth booking.

Works indoors and out — all it needs is a flat surface

Coin minting slots neatly into weddings, birthdays, city festivals, welcome programmes and corporate events. It works equally well indoors or outdoors – all it needs is a small, level, solid surface for the master's anvil or stand, with no extra equipment or floor space required.

Viduramžiai LT has been running events since 2004, and coin minting is one of our most frequently booked hands-on activities for well-known Lithuanian companies and private clients alike, whenever they want a tangible, personal souvenir rather than the usual party favour.

The answers people need most

Is it safe for guests to strike the coin themselves?

Yes, the activity is completely safe. The master professionally holds and stabilises the die and controls the direction of the strike, so the guest only needs to hold the hammer and deliver the blow. Risk of injury is effectively eliminated, since the master's hands always stay a safe distance from the strike point. It suits adults and older teens alike, and the master adjusts the instructions individually for each guest.

Can we put our logo on the coin?

Yes, that's one of the most common reasons clients book this activity. We prepare a custom die in advance from your design – company logo, event date or initials. Send the artwork with enough lead time for us to prepare a quality die; we agree the exact deadline when you book. If a custom design isn't needed, we also offer standard medieval-motif dies.

What metal are the coins struck from?

The coins are struck from softer alloys – usually aluminium or copper. These materials are chosen specifically because they let the design imprint clearly and cleanly even for a guest who has never struck metal before. The harder, historical-style die stays the same and is reused many times; only the softer blank changes each time a new coin is struck.

How many coins can be struck in an hour?

On average, working at an intensive pace, one master helps guests strike around 30–50 coins per hour. The exact number depends on guest flow and whether people linger to chat or move through at a steady pace. For larger events, we recommend discussing your expected guest count in advance so we can suggest the right duration or add a second master if needed.

What space does the coin-minting station need?

Just a small but solid, level surface for the master's anvil or stand – no large floor area or special infrastructure is needed. It works equally well indoors or outdoors, since it takes up very little space and leaves no mess behind. We agree the exact spot before the event, so the station is easy for guests to reach without disrupting the main programme.

Testimonials

We want to thank you for the wonderful entertainment at our wedding. Our guests loved not just the process itself, but also taking home a symbolic souvenir with our initials on it. The master worked in a very polished and engaging way.

Justina ir Dovydas

We sincerely thank you for the professional service at our company's anniversary celebration. The chance for colleagues to strike a coin with the company logo turned out to be the most popular activity of the evening.
