UV Painting

UV painting is a scripted performance, prepared in advance and delivered live to music by a single professional artist. During the show, the artist draws with a light tool onto a special canvas coated in a luminescent film that glows only in darkness. No liquid paint or pigment ever touches the canvas — the image exists purely as light meeting film, which keeps the whole process perfectly clean.

Each picture lives on the canvas for only a few minutes before fading and giving way to the next stroke — a temporary art form where impermanence itself becomes part of the performance. Guests watch the image being born in real time rather than a finished piece, which makes every scene feel unrepeatable.

Before the event we prepare the storyline together — it can trace a company's growth from its first steps to today, a couple's journey, a portrait, a logo or a symbolic image. Across one performance, several scenes unfold in sequence, so the result is a narrative built for your occasion rather than a generic number.

After the main show comes a very popular interactive segment: guests, both children and adults, are invited to pick up a light tool themselves and try painting on the canvas. It is an engaging, educational close that extends the show and draws in the whole audience.

UV painting is one of the safest acts in our programme: no smoke, no odour, no heat and no liquid paint. That makes it suitable even for sensitive indoor venues — museums, libraries, small halls — where more intense formats would be too risky.

The footprint is minimal: all it needs is room for a canvas or stand and a small standing area for the artist, so it fits easily into a venue of almost any size. The one firm requirement is maximum darkness in the room, so the light strokes on the canvas read bright and clear — which is why the show is performed indoors only.

If your celebration is outdoors, we'd suggest pairing a different fire or light programme with the main event and keeping UV painting for an indoor portion of the evening — for example, a wedding dinner in the hall or an office party after work.
