The glowing props leave an image in the air that looks like a hologram.
Any image can appear in the air — even your logo
Paintings in the air are created by performers synchronising glowing LED tools — hoops, staffs and other programmable devices. Every tool is pre-programmed, so fast, precise spins turn into an image that seems to float in mid-air, almost like a hologram.
The technique works a bit like long-exposure photography: the eye doesn't track each individual point of light, but perceives its path as a continuous line or shape, so a carefully programmed movement in the air reads as a clear, recognisable image. The more precisely the performers are synchronised, the cleaner and sharper the lines look.
Almost anything can be loaded into the sequence: abstract geometric shapes and colour compositions, a written greeting, names or an anniversary number, a photo, or even the shape of a three-dimensional object. Costumes and LED tools are colour-matched to each other, so the whole scene reads as one coherent visual.
Light images appearing out of darkness look like pure magic to the audience, which is why this LED show often becomes the most emotional moment of an event.
One of the most popular parts of this show is drawing a company logo in the air. The best results come from a high-resolution vector file (.ai, .pdf) or a .png with a transparent background — our technicians adapt it to the resolution of the LED tools, and we prepare and test the digital content ourselves before the event so nothing is left to chance on the night.
The same technology can spell out names, a love confession, an anniversary number or a short slogan, all clearly readable during the performance. Preparing a logo or a personal message is an add-on, but it's usually what everyone is still talking about the next day because of the wow factor it creates.
You send us the file in advance, our team turns it into an LED sequence, and before the event itself we run an additional check on how it will look in your specific venue. That extra step removes surprises and makes sure the logo or greeting in the air looks exactly the way you pictured it.
Fits even venues where fire effects are out of the question
LED technology produces no heat, smoke or odour, so paintings in the air can be shown in compact spaces, near sensitive equipment or décor, and in upscale venues such as conference halls, restaurants or formal reception rooms. The minimum space needed is a modest, compact stage area, and the performance works equally well indoors or outdoors.
The best visual effect is achieved in a dim or darkened space — the darker the room, the brighter and more contrasty the light drawing appears; in daylight it's still visible, just less striking.
Woven into your evening — not bolted on to it
Our signature étude, PIXEL FLOW, combines paintings in the air with choreography, so dance and mid-air light drawing form a single piece rather than two separate elements. Paintings in the air is also frequently packaged as part of our larger AURORA LED programme or other light shows, so you can choose a short, sharp accent or fold it into a bigger spectacle.
Because it combines so easily with other programmes, it's worth discussing while you're still shaping the overall event script — for example as a surprise during dinner, an accent right after the speeches, or the build-up before dancing starts. Our team helps you find the spot in the running order where the effect lands naturally rather than feeling like a bolted-on extra.
Who it suits — and when to get in touch
We adapt the show for welcoming guests, new product launches, corporate events and city festivals. It has already been chosen by well-known Lithuanian companies looking for a technological, memorable touch for their event.
Viduramžiai LT has been staging shows since 2004 — we perform in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda and across Lithuania. Paintings in the air combines easily with our other programmes, such as a light show or a UV performance.
To book paintings in the air for your event, get in touch early — we'll talk through the image you want, your venue and where the piece fits in your script, and if you want a logo or message drawn in the air, we'll tell you straight away which file format to send us.
The practical side — ours to handle
Indoors
No open flame — it suits halls where fire is not allowed.
Lighting
The effect is strongest in low light; we agree the room's lighting in advance.
From you
A power socket and a place to change — everything else arrives with us.
Stage
No stage needed: we fit the act to a dance floor or the middle of the room.
The answers people need most
Can you draw our company logo in the air?
Yes. A logo drawn in the air is one of the most popular parts of this show. A high-resolution vector file (.ai, .pdf) or a .png with a transparent background works best — we adapt it to the LED tools and prepare and test the content ourselves before the event.
Are LED paintings visible in daylight?
Yes, but with less contrast. LED tools are very bright, but the best effect is achieved in a dim or partially darkened space — the darker the room, the more the image in the air looks vivid and "real".
How many performers are involved and how much space do you need?
A standard performance is staged by our performers, and the required stage area is modest and compact. The show works equally well indoors or outdoors, and the LED equipment poses no risk to the surroundings.
Can you programme a text greeting or names?
Yes. We can spell out names, an anniversary number or a short slogan, all clearly readable in the air during the performance. We agree on the text in advance to match your event script.
Can paintings in the air be combined with dance?
Yes, that's the core of our signature étude PIXEL FLOW, where choreography and mid-air light drawing form a single piece. Paintings in the air can also be combined with the AURORA programme or other LED shows.

When we saw our company logo appear in the air at the end of the show, a wave of applause swept through the hall. It was very professional and gave the event a top-tier feel.
It's amazing how technology can transform a celebration. The LED wings and our initials appearing in the air were the most beautiful surprise of our wedding!
