What sets a pirate apart from most welcome characters is that he talks. This is not a silent decorative figure by the door but a character with a personality of his own, who strikes up conversations, tells tales of wind and waves, invents details about his ship and draws in even the guests who usually stay on the edge of things.

That is why pirates work well where guests do not know one another. The character gives people a reason to start talking — and a few minutes later there is a small crowd around him made of people who were standing alone.

Equally good fun for children and adults

The pirate theme is one of the few that works across every age group at once: for children it is an adventure, for adults a playful mix of nostalgia and humour. That makes the act suitable for family celebrations, city events and corporate evenings with a lighter, less formal theme.

The act can be combined with our other programmes — stilt walkers, themed-party styling or medieval games for children if there are little ones present. What is worth pairing depends on the age of your guests and the nature of the event.

No. Space where the character can move freely among the guests is enough — at the entrance, in the hall or in an outdoor area. No stage, power or sound equipment is required.
