When you need the coin, but not a forge at the event

A live minting stand does not suit every event. A conference has nowhere to put one, gifts for partners have to go out by post, and sometimes you simply want every guest to find a coin at their place rather than queue for it. For exactly those cases we strike the coins in advance and send them to you ready.

The principle is the same as at an event: a hardened die, a hammer and a blank of softer alloy. The only difference is that the work is done by a smith in the workshop, and you receive a finished batch whenever it suits you.

On the coin — your logo or your date

From the artwork you supply we cut a bespoke die: a company logo, an event date, an anniversary number or a couple's initials. Because the die is a physical tool, cutting it takes time before the event — we confirm the lead time when you book, so it is worth starting the order earlier than feels necessary.

If bespoke artwork is not needed, we also offer standard medieval-motif dies. That option suits you when the coins are needed quickly, or when the object itself matters more than the inscription on it.

If you would rather your guests struck it themselves

The same coin can also be struck live at your celebration: the guest sets the blank, takes the hammer and drives the pattern home in one blow while the smith holds the die and guides the strike. The coin then becomes not a gift but a memory of something the person made with their own hands — see our coin minting programme.

Which option fits depends on the event: a minting stand works where guests have the time and space to come over, while pre-struck coins work where the programme is tight, the gifts are posted, or the recipients are spread across different cities. A minimum order applies to both, and the starting price is shown in the price card.

How does this differ from coin minting at the event?

Here we strike the coins in advance in the workshop and send them to you — nothing is set up at the venue. In the coin minting programme the same work is done by your guests under a smith's supervision. The first option suits gifts and a tight programme; the second suits a celebration where people should make the coin themselves.

Can our logo be struck onto the coin?

Yes. From your artwork we cut a bespoke die carrying your logo, the event date or initials. The die is a physical tool, so cutting it takes time — we confirm the lead time when you book, and we ask for the artwork as early as possible.

What if we have no artwork of our own?

Then we offer standard medieval-motif dies. That option suits you when the coins are needed quickly, or when the object matters more than the inscription — the keepsake is hand-struck either way.

What metal are the coins struck from?

The coins are struck from softer alloys — usually aluminium or copper. These are chosen so the pattern presses in cleanly and clearly. The harder die itself does not change and is used many times over.

Is there a minimum order?

Yes, a minimum order value applies, with delivery costs on top. The starting price is shown in the price card, and we send an exact quote once we know the quantity you want and whether a bespoke die is needed.
