Video Mapping

Video mapping is a live dialogue between a real performer and a digital world that comes alive on screen. The dancer's movement and the projected imagery are synchronised to the millisecond, so it looks as if the performer is literally shaping light — drawing with it, forming it, stopping it exactly on cue. It is one of the most technically demanding acts in our repertoire, because every step of the choreography has to match a pre-programmed visual sequence with total precision.

The visual effect resembles a hologram, yet there is no hologram hardware on stage at all — the illusion is built from a carefully designed lighting setup combined with high-resolution projection. That gives an impressively three-dimensional look while relying on far simpler, more dependable technology than true holography.

Behind that precision lies a long preparation process: programmers build and lay out the visual content frame by frame in advance, a choreographer matches it to the dance movements, and the performer rehearses until every step lands on the exact second of the projection. It is this invisible groundwork that makes everything on stage look effortless and natural.

The act is especially effective when you need to tell a story rather than just say it out loud — company values, a brand's journey, or a new product concept, all conveyed visually. Choreography, projection and sound design are combined into a single coherent narrative, so the audience experiences one seamless audiovisual piece rather than a set of separate effects.

The standout moment is the show's climax, when the performer appears to "pull" your company's logo out of digital dust, or shapes it from beams of light. That single frame usually becomes the most memorable moment of the evening, and it works perfectly for photos and video shared on social media afterwards.

Although the act looks large in scale, it fits comfortably into compact, closed venues — conference rooms, restaurants, office lobbies. At the same time, thanks to the large screen and high-contrast projection, it reads just as clearly in a big hall, even for guests seated at the very back.

Unlike most of our large-impact acts, video mapping uses no fire and no smoke at all — the entire effect is built purely from light and the performer's skill. That makes it the safest option for venues with strict fire-safety requirements, such as conference centres or hotel ballrooms.

Technically, the act needs three things: a professional projection screen or LED wall for image sharpness and precise dancer-to-projection interaction, a darkened space for contrast, and a power outlet for the equipment. We confirm these requirements together with you while planning the event, so everything is ready in time.

Interactive projections work perfectly as a stand-alone act on their own, but they also combine easily with our other performances — an LED show or a laser choreography, for example — if you want a longer, multi-act evening programme.
