Display of Medieval Weaponry and Armor

Unlike an ordinary museum, nothing here is locked behind glass. Guests pick up a sword, raise a shield, put on a helmet and feel for themselves just how much a knight's armor really weighs. It is the kind of experience that stays with people far longer than a photograph – there is a world of difference between seeing armor in a display case and feeling its weight on your own shoulders.

Every replica is crafted from archaeological finds and historical sources, so the display is not only entertaining but an accurate window into medieval warfare. Each weapon and piece of armor mirrors a real historical example, so guests see how combat actually looked rather than a generic fantasy version of knighthood – down to the shape of a blade or the construction of a helmet.

We have been building this exhibition since 2004, and over the years it has become one of the most popular interactive programmes at both corporate celebrations and city or town festivals. That experience has helped us learn which exhibits guests connect with most, and how to tell their stories in a way that engages a history buff and a child seeing a real helmet for the first time alike.

Costumed guides stay with the display for the full duration of your event, so guests can approach whenever suits them instead of waiting for a fixed session to start. They help guests try on the armor safely, explain what each weapon was made for and how it was used, and answer even the most curious questions.

It is a great educational activity for the whole family: children are taught the rules of safe handling, while guides supervise the exhibits at all times. For adults, it is a chance to feel up close just how heavy real medieval armor was and how a knight could still move, fight or travel long distances while wearing it.

On request, the programme can be extended with a dedicated seminar titled "Medieval Warfare", where guides go deeper into weaponry, combat tactics and a knight's daily life. The seminar suits events where you want to give guests more substance, as well as educational programmes at schools or cultural centres.

The display works beautifully as a standalone, relaxed-pace activity, and just as well as an introduction to a more active part of the programme. For extra energy, you can add demonstration knight combat or interactive martial games that spectators can join in themselves – a great way to involve guests actively rather than have them simply watch from the side.

This flexibility lets you shape the programme to your event – from a quiet educational highlight at a conference to a loud, action-packed show at a city festival. For organisers, that means the same base exhibition can be adapted to very different audiences, from business partners to groups of schoolchildren.

The display works outdoors in a medieval tent just as well as indoors – in conference halls, manor chambers or offices. There is also a dedicated variant, the Weapons and Armor Display with Tent, where the whole setup is paired with a medieval tent for a stronger visual atmosphere both outdoors and inside, which works particularly well when you want to reinforce the overall medieval theme.
