Medieval festivals
 Each year in the middle of the summer, with History museum of Trakai we organize large festivals of medieval culture at the peninsula castle. During the festivals the craftsmen are making and selling medieval wares, knights and archers are demonstrating their art of war and accuracy. Not for the first year the tournament of the Commander of military takes place in which knights not only from Lithuania but also from foreign countries take part. The gracious dancers demonstrate the medieval dances and tell the stories from those times, also inviting spectators to the circle.
With the help of experienced craftsmen visitors may try to make a lucky horseshoe or a clothing pin or a clay pot… Braver visitors may try their strength and accuracy by throwing axes or bow shooting. The culmination of the festival becomes a real battle where small but real medieval armies meet on the battlefield. In the evening the atmosphere is heated by fakir’s shows and volleys of flaming arrows shot by archers. Not only Lithuanian clubs and brotherhoods participate in festival but also guests from various European countries.
